Behind The Design - Gosford Meadow

Gosford Meadow felt like an instinctive choice for our first launch. A print instantly recognisable as Laura Ashley and one that holds personal meaning for both Brad and me.

In Brad’s childhood 1930s home, Gosford Meadow curtains framed the hallway as you entered. It’s a design we’ve both grown up with, making it a natural starting point for our partnership with Laura Ashley. While honouring the original, I wanted to reinterpret it in a way that felt right for our brand. I felt it could carry a richer, deeper palette… something more practical for everyday dog wear. To me, it’s always felt truly unisex.

A signature Laura Ashley print featuring gorgeous bold parrot tulips. Gosford was originally inspired by a magnificent antique painted artwork in the Laura Ashley archive.

Most recognisable in a cream and cranberry, this print has been recreated for practicality and boldness. Inspired by the deep red and navy colour palettes found throughout Laura Ashley’s 1980s catalogues, shades often seen in billiard rooms, drawing rooms and libraries, this vintage inspired version draws on deeper heritage tones and charm.

Inspired by Laura Ashley catalogues from the 1980s, particularly the navy and red tones used in gentleman’s prints like Mr Jones, Grand Paisley and Regency Stripe, we built from the existing cranberry within Gosford Meadow to create something familiar yet more refined, grounded and aligned with our audience.
